Using SIPs benefited the project in several ways. First and foremost was the speed at which the building was erected. We estimate that we saved roughly 30 days as compared to a steel building. Once the shell was completed, we needed to heat the inside in order to pull the frost out of the ground. By having a complete SIP envelope, we were able to complete this process more quickly than normal. This not only saved time and sped up the project, but it also resulted in considerable savings in the cost of heating during the construction process.

Any additional comments on the project:The project was initiated late in the fall of 2017 and winter construction was inevitable. Using SIPS benefited the project in several ways. Once the shell was completed, we needed to heat the inside in order to pull the frost out of the ground. “Building with SIPs is not only a superior way of building for contractors and investors, the building method is also more earth-friendly and energy-efficient than traditional stick-built.”
P. Allen SmithTelevision Preservationist, Designer
“Using structural insulated panels built in a controlled environment just makes sense: It reduces waste, increases construction efficiency, and means the building shell goes up quickly.”
Amy MatthewsTelevision host, general contractor
"EPT projects are a better way to build. The structures are more secure, stronger homes, are easier and quicker to put up, and enable builders to deliver projects closer to schedule and budge, while reducing the time to build. He would select EPT amongst all other SIP manufacturers."
