The Power of Extreme SIPs

Extreme Structural Insulated Panels are a revolutionary product in the construction industry. They consist of an insulating foam core sandwiched between two structural facings, typically oriented strand board (OSB). This unique construction provides a range of benefits:

Recent Optimizations

In June, we’ve focused on optimizing the performance and application of our SIPs to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Space Optimization with SIP Roofs

One of the most exciting advancements is our ability to help clients gain more square footage and optimize space with Extreme SIP Roofs. For instance, Mojo Developments took a 1,299 sq ft main level and expanded it to 1,499 sq ft by converting a rear porch into conditioned space. 

The original plan allowed for about 200 sq ft of unconditioned attic space. By using our optimized SIPs, they gained 700 sq ft of usable second-story space, which included a bedroom, office, third bathroom, and a bonus/playroom. This transformation was achieved with a SIPs package costing $68k compared to a traditional stick package of $42k (without insulation). 

The timeframe for the SIPs installation was impressive as well: a crew of four completed the job in just five days without the need for trimming any panels. In contrast, conventional framing would have more than doubled the construction time. 

Efficiency Gains

Additionally, the efficiency of our SIPs is demonstrated through Manual J calculations: 

  • Conventional Construction: 65,000 BTU, 3.5 tons. 
  • Extreme SIPs: 27,000 BTU, 2 tons.

Teaching and Assistance

At Extreme Panel Technologies, we understand the importance of proper installation to maximize the benefits of SIPs. Therefore, we are excited to introduce a new Teaching and Assistance program. This initiative aims to support our clients, especially those with jobsites that are not local. Our team will be available to assist in the initial stages of panel installation, ensuring everything is set up correctly from the start. 

For projects requiring more extensive support, anything beyond a day or two, we offer the option of deploying a full crew. Our goal is to be more present on jobsites, providing the guidance and expertise needed to get your project off to a strong start.
